Daylight Fading pt MMDCCLXI

Barack Hussein Obama, the successful candidate, grovels to the
King Of Manchuria Saud. The UK's Queen got a pat on the back.

"With a grinning Goliath staggering about sporting a "kick me" sign on his back, even reputed allies joined the fun. Pakistan freed from house arrest A.Q. Khan, the notorious proliferator who sold nuclear technology to North Korea, Libya and Iran. Ten days later, Islamabad capitulated to the Taliban, turning over to its tender mercies the Swat Valley, ..."
Perhaps, but you know, since the normally Obamaphile Washington Post's Charles Krauthammer krauthammered President Hopechange over his "supine diplomacy" back in February, increasingly, the Appeaser-in-Chief's Middle East policy strikes one less and less like 'earnest' (stupid wot's been to university) bungling and more like that of someone who grew up attending a madrassa in somewhere like Indonesia.

How else to make sense of basing American policy on the appalling 2002 Saudi "Peace" Initiative (more properly "Destruction of Israel" Initiative) which hinges on the so-called "Palestinians"'s alleged "right of return" in addition to the two state solution? This would mean of course, not only a state just for the "Palestinians" (we can imagine, I'm sure, what that would be like), but their "right" to overrun Israel in the bargain. Two states indeed. But both Arab.
Hmmmm ... that would make 24, right?

But while His Hopeiness dismisses such revolting developments as Iran hitting the home stretch to nuclear powerdom (probably handy for that wiping Israel off the map thing they're always raving about) as "distractions", his throwing Israel to the wolves will be making the world a far more dangerous place.

The Teleprompter's Sidekick can sing Kumbaya, kow tow, bow, scrape, beg forgiveness, play the lyre while Jerusalem burns ... all he likes, clearly the Israelis have no intention of going down without one hell of a fight.

And then heaven help us all.

Afghan War Progress Update

NATO troops on patrol in Kandahar City

While we're daily fed the line that the war in Afdumpistan is not only winnable (i.e. we can save the Afghans from themselves) but its all going most splendidly indeed.

"TELEGRAPH.co.uk
Afghan schoolgirls sprayed with acid

Three Afghan schoolgirls suffered serious burns when attackers sprayed acid in their faces as they walked to school.

By Ben Farmer in Kabul
Last Updated: 12:30AM GMT 13 Nov 2008

Two men riding a motorcycle attacked a group of 15 girls with an acid-filled water pistol in the southern city of Kandahar, leaving six needing hospital treatment, three of them for serious injuries.

A government official said the attackers ripped off the girls' headscarves before the attack and another report said those wearing the full-length burqa to cover themselves had been left untouched.

It is not known who carried out the attack but girls were banned from going to school under the Taliban regime between 1996 and 2001. ..."

Uh huh. And nowadays they're just sprayed with acid for ...
Please to note that this did not take place in some tribal run backwater, no, this was in downtown Kandahar for crying out loud. If they don't get it there, where the hell do they and what does that say?

The next big act in this unceasing tragedy is going to be when newly-minted Pres Barry Obamessiah removeth his warriors from Sumer, from Nineveh and the Land of Ur, oops, I mean Iraq, (I am getting on) and sendeth them into the unholy mess that is Afdumpistan, which is not, repeat not going to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century no matter how much kuffar blood is spilt there.

Hope for the Change of the Hope of the Change

Huge roar of approval when Obamessiah's victory is announced at the Canucks game. Polls showing over 80% of canerdians rooting for the Saviour Barry O.
All this for a guy who has promised to put the boots to canerduh's economy on America's behalf?
If you ever wondered about how much there may be to that whole 'dumbing down' phenomenon, there you go.
Because if Obamessiah has his way, a lot of these fools will indeed be begging for change.

Grasping At Straws

Some people insist on believing Barack Hussein Obama isn't 100% Made In the USA

Newsmax, who, it would seem fair to say, are really quite right wing, have been really running hard with the whole Does Barry O qualify to run for Pres? routine.
The latest development has them in a total tizzy, as apparently, despite the passing of a '30 day deadline' to do so, Obamessiah's lawyers have not yet produced the "original birth certificate" at the heart of a suit launched by former Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General Philip J. Berg — a self-avowed supporter of Hillary Clinton,.

The suit alleges that "Barack Obama was born in Kenya and is thus “ineligible” to run for president of the United States" and demands that Obama’s lawyers produce a copy of his original birth certificate to prove that he is a natural-born U.S. citizen.

Well down in the Newsmax story it is (oh so briefly) mentioned that this sort of deadline is routinely, in Shakespeare's (unattributed) phrase, "more honoured in the breach than the observance", by lawyers, yet this whole bit of nothing was nonetheless Newsmax's "Headline Story" (cue: flourish of strumpets, er, trumpets).
Pretty pathetic, guys.

Obama Snags Coveted Tehran Endorsement

I'madinnerjacket wants you to know he likes Barry O for Pres.

"Tehran wants Barack Obama in the White House, rules out war

DEBKAfile Special Report

October 23, 2008, 11:19 AM (GMT+02:00)

During a visit to Bahrain, Iran’s parliament speaker Ali Larijani said Wednesday, Oct. 22, that Tehran would prefer Democratic senator Barack Obama in the White House next year. He also ruled out any US attack on his country. “The risk was low before, but now I am 100 percent certain that the United States will not unleash a war against Iran,” he said at a new conference in Manama.

“We lean more in favor of Obama,”, “because he is more flexible and rational, even through we know American policy will not change that much.”

DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources note that Larijani is one of the most powerful voices in Tehran’s conservative camp and a close confidant of supreme ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He would not have spoken out in favor of Obama without top-level sanction.

The location Larijani chose for his statement is significant: Bahrain is one of America’s greatest friends in the Gulf region, host to the US 5th Fleet headquarters. Tehran was laying claim to a foothold in the Gulf region.

The argument he advanced against a US attack was arithmetical: “The economic crisis has cost America 1,400 billion dollars and Washington is working to resolve its internal problems and not a war.”

I predict Chris Matthews will lead with this tomorrow and he'll be getting that special Obamessiah feeling up his legs again.

Barry O Landslide Update

John McCain's impending fate displayed graphically.

Larry J. Sabato details for Rasmussen Reports how JM's position in the Electoral College, no scream in hell last week, has continued to deteriorate this week.

"Obama has 190 Solid, 49 Likely, and 66 Leaning electoral votes, for a total of 305, or 35 more than needed for election.

McCain has 122 Solid, 30 Likely, and 22 Leaning electoral votes, for a total of 174."

McCain's Last Stand

As Mr Fries noted in tonight's debate, a long line of McCains have served the US in war and peace. However if they're going to get a President in there amongst the family portraits the deed will be done by a future generation.
If anyone wondered if JM could have done any worse than he did in the previous bouts, the question was answered tonight: Yes he could.
In hockey terms the guy was squeezing his stick so hard sawdust was blowing out the end.
It got to the point were he was misspeaking so badly with it, he was blurting out all sorts of interesting malapropisms like his vow to make "health care avoidable, er affordable" ... Too late big guy, they heard the first version.
I had expected Barry O to rope a dope a lot more than he did. He actually took it to McCain though, something I got the feeling wasn't particularly anticipated in the Repugnican corner either.
Barry O landslide on the way.

10,000 Syrian Commandos Heading For Lebanon

Syrian deployment on Lebanese border: Commandos on right; positions on hill, trucks below.

"Damascus is pressing forward with its plan to occupy Greater Tripoli, Lebanon’s second largest city and port, DEBKAfile's military sources report. To this end, 10,000 Syrian commando troops have massed at Abboudieh on the Lebanese border ready to follow an advance force which occupied seven villages around the northern city earlier this month, as first disclosed by DEBKAfile on Sept. 20"

The next step in Lebanon's disintegration features, no big surprise, the Syrians, who have been prominent among those bedeviling Lebanon for decades now.

"... Syrian occupation of northern Lebanon will make profound inroads on the strategic position of the United States and Israel in this part of the Middle East, yet Washington and Jerusalem are turning a blind eye."

Perhaps Washingtom and Israel figure Syrian occupation of the area is preferable to the alternative.
True, from a certain point of view, all of Lebanon descending into chaos and serving as yet another battlefield for the Sunnis, Shiites, Wahhabis and all the other sects of the Religion of Peace to occupy themselves killing each other and leave the rest of us alone isn't a particularly unwelcome development.
However, this would be too near to Israel, meaning there's a far better chance of Lebanon turning into another Afghanistan, with infidel troops (under NATO, the UN, or who have you) soiling holy Muslim soil in a valiant fight to quell all that and drag the population into the 21st century etc, etc ...
Watch for this to get far worse.
