So This Is What A "Community Organizer" Does

Apparently, this sort of thing is an expression of Pride in some circles.

Carole the Nice , leader of the Non Democratic Party, had better get a memo out toot sweet to all candidates re: getting one's freak on for all the world to see via one of those incredibly popular narcissistic achievement substitute social networking sites.
Remember the federal NDP candidate who had videos up of himself driving around with a face full of reefers?

Well, now one of Carole's Cadre has weighed in with her very own where do they find these people? moment to wear with her trademark indignant on behalf of working families, women, the disabled ... look.

In Ray Lam's defense, posting weirdo pics of you and your pals is a far cry from endangering public safety by driving impaired (pulling a Gordie in some circles) but one does tend to hope for some shred of mature judgment (a spot of dignity wouldn't be amiss either) in an elected representative, trained seals for the party leaders tho' they be.

So, how does this work, do they have to find another gay guy who looks Asian or is one or the other enuff? What about someone with a visible disablity who's one of the other two? What about a lesbian who's differentially abled, how would she stack up against someone who could tick off 'transgendered', or, how does that whole thing work?

Anyway, fearless leader has said she will be looking into how the NDP screen potential candidates. Oh, that. While its a bit late now for that, still this bunch o' bananas figure they should be running BC.
No, thanks.

A Glimpse of the Future?

and in other news, Premier Carole James and Antizionism Minister Mabel Elmore were flown in to a remote area south west of Fort Nelson this morning. There they toured the first of the Province's three new Zionist Reeducation Camps which are opening this month.
Construction of the camps began once the Supreme Court of Canada ruled last year in the Levant case that while some of their best friends are Jewish, nonetheless the scourge of Zionism must be eradicated by any and all means necessary and possible. ...

Oh Carole

You've gone and thrown my vote away*

So, first I absolutely shocked family and friends by announcing that I found myself in the unprecedented situation of intending to vote NDP. I'd voted Green last time knowing Gordie Campbell would win, but hoping a reduced majority and popular vote might inspire him to straighten out and fly right.

Well, that didn't happen of course, instead we've had the carbon tax, more of his endless smooching of Ottawa's backside, an all-out sleaze fest at taxpayers' expense, and on and on ...
It seemed I had no choice but to move my vote to the NDP.

Now I learn that amongst the various left wing loonies on board with Carole the Nice is a particularly virulent Jew-hater, one Mable Elmore by name. Ms Elmore apparently can't simply shut up and drive the bus, she has to battle "Zionists" in her workplace as well.
Uh huh.

Well, so much for voting NDP. Now what do I do? Until BC has our own version of the PQ, thanks to Willie Woodenshoes, there's really not a party that's anything like a natural fit for me, I always have to hold my nose; but Carole James has seen to it I won't be voting NDP this May.

*apologies to Chuck Berry

Tories Brace for Fearmongering

No truth to rumours this image to figure large in Liberal ads

The Harpo Tories are emailing their members (and those they think are members ;D ) drumming up cash to counter the predictable torrent of attack ads being unleashed on the consciousness of voters.

"Dear Mr. In North Burnaby

As more and more Canadians abandon the Liberals, the Liberal attack machine is revving up. They will spend the final two weeks of this election campaign trying to scare Canadians just like they've done before. As their campaign unravels, their attacks are becoming more and more absurd. We must take advantage of these opportunities as they present themselves. I'm emailing you today with an urgent request for you to make a contribution of $200 or $100 on-line right now, by following this link.

We need your support because we have an opportunity right now to counter the Liberal attack machine as it begins to over-reach and make more and more preposterous claims about the Conservative election campaign.

Just this weekend, Yasmin Ratansi's absurd statements that Stephen Harper ‘doesn't really like women', underscore the Liberals' increasingly desperate attempts to gain traction with the electorate. Why are they so desperate? With a $12 billion hole in their campaign platform, support among Canadians shrinking and at least 30 members of their caucus and candidates questioning the wisdom of the so-called Green Shift, it's not surprising at all.

Right now, we have an opportunity to show the Liberal campaign strategy for what it is: the real politics of division in this election. We need your help to do it, so please, follow this link right now and make an –on-line contribution of $200 or $100. Your contribution will help your Conservative Campaign team buy print, radio and television air time and expose the Liberal increasing desperation to Canadians.

Now is the time we need your support the most, I hope you will answer the call.
Sincerely,
Irving R. Gerstein, C. M., O.Ont
Chair, Conservative Fund Canada

P.S. - With election day a short 13 days away, your support is most urgent. Please send the most generous contribution you can today by following this link to our secure on-line donations page."

Personally, I've developed a little gluttony game I quite enjoy to go with all this. Every time I hear some manure chute like Ujjal Dosanjh link Harpo and the evil wicked nasty tool of the devil Bush () I have a cookie.

NDP Vow To Get Tough On Crime

The trouble is, the NDP have had opportunities in the past to get tough on crime and, well, passed on them.
Remember Bill C-275 introduced in the Commons November 15, 2004?
Sure you do, Carley’s Law. Yeah, that one, getting tough on drunken drivers. Here's Burnaby-Douglas NDP MP Bill Siksay explaining in an email why he and his party voted against Carley’s Law.:

"Dear Mr. In North Burnaby

Thank you for your recent message regarding Bill C-275.

I did not vote for this bill because I was concerned that it removed the concept of criminal intent from consideration in cases where someone may have left the scene of the accident for innocent reasons. I also have difficulty with mandatory minimum sentences. I believe that there is good reason to allow judges to exercise discretion when sentencing by taking into consideration the particular circumstances of the case. I am also not convinced, from my understanding of the experience of those jurisdictions that have mandatory minimum sentence, that they have been effective in ensuring convictions or in deterring or preventing the crimes to which they are attached. There is also mixed opinion here in Canada as to whether a further extension of mandatory sentences in the area of impaired driving will have the desired effect.

I have attached a copy of the speech made by the NDP's Justice Critic, Joe Comartin, MP, on this bill. Mr. Comartin goes into greater detail on some of the concerns we had with the bill.

It was not easy to vote against this bill given the horrible consequences to far too many Canadians of drunk driving. But I do believe that I did so for very serious reasons.

Thank you for taking the time to contact me on this important issue.

Sincerely yours,
Bill Siksay, MP
Burnaby-Douglas"

Can't you just see Cactus Jack Layton and Buffalo Bill Siksay ridin' into town, roundin' up all the ornery, no-good varmints and packin' 'em off to the hoosegow?
No?
Me neither.

You've Heard of a Yellow Dog Riding

Well, how about a whole city?
Seems like the NDP in disguise "Burnaby Citizens' Association" (yeah, right) could put up Bozo or Satan and the voters in The People's Happy Democratic Republic of Burnaby would duly elect him. Watch for the same old same old this time round as well.
How long, Lord, how long?
