Egyptian Scholar: Christian Copts Must Pay Jizya

... “If non-Muslims were to learn the meaning of ‘jizya,’ they would ask for it to be applied — and we will apply it, just like Islam commands us to.” His logic is that, if Christians pay the jizya, they would buy for themselves “protection,” hence why they themselves should want to pay it. ...
How does that strike you? Sound good? You know, you get to cower in the market square while you pay your jizya. Whaddya think? Hmm? Hmm?
Of course, if you don't happen to be a Christian, then your choices become Islam or death, no paying the jizya for you. So there's that.

Check it all out over at the PJ Tatler.

Afghan Democracy Update

Its not enuff for Afghan women to degrade themselves with burqas and such. They will soon be required by law to submit to rape.

Although readers of this blog could hardly have been surprised by developments, the msm finally discovered something of the true nature of Afcrapistan's "fledgling democracy" when they stumbled on the primitive, repugnant, Sharia-based marital rape law making its way into what that "country" is pleased to call its law books.

Now, when all of 300 women dare show up at a demo against said law, they're promptly pelted with rocks and gravel. Interestingly, the "counterprotesters" as the Daily Mail carefully calls them were hollering "Death to the slaves of the Christians!". Charming.

Seyyed Kambakhsh is still rotting unmentioned in prison for suggesting males and females should be equal under law, but apparently the Afs have finally now at last come up with something truly beyond the Pale. I suppose it was only a matter of time. Still, the whole thing will soon blow over, I mean, wouldn't it be sorta "racist" or something to dwell on it? And besides, what to do about it? Aside from simply pulling out and letting the Afs enjoy the 7th century unhampered, only ensuring they're never again in a position to export any of it?

As this sickening travesty drags on, as the casualties pile up, remember: NATO troops are dying to prop up a regime that more and more resembles what is being set up in the Swat Valley of stout ally Pakistan.

Could this get any crazier?

Afghan Democracy Update

Afghanistan's Supreme Court has upheld the 20 year sentence handed to Seyyed Parwiz Kambakhsh for suggesting that men and women are equal. In Afcrapistan apparently, this is something called "blasphemy".

So, this is the sort of Sharia Lite which NATO troops are dying to prop up. Seems rather like the Taliban with a bit better pr advice.

Kambakhsh's brother has made the rounds of European countries trying to drum up support abroad. Among those waving their hands and doing nothing, Italy's under-secretary for foreign affairs, Alfredo Mantica, offered up this gem, "It's a fact that Afghanistan's courts are strongly influenced by the religious authorities."

No kidding.

The Religion of Peace -BC Division

Blasphemy is more grievous than bloodshed. (Q 2:192)

“What freedom? No one has that type of freedom. There is always a limit to it. For example, could you just drive by in a red light because you felt like it, because you have the freedom to do as you wish?”
- Shaykh Ahmad Shehab on the relative threat to life and limb posed by reckless driving and the Danish Motoons.

Inshallah, Shayk Shehab will be the "special guest" at an upcoming fundraiser for the Surrey Muslim School. This promises to be a fascinating evening as the special guest is apparently quite the polymath, being not only well, ahem, versed in Islam's views on free expression, but an expert on marriage, as well as the dangers of black magic and possession by jinns.

One can't help but wonder how these topics are covered at the school, which lists amongst its goals cultivating their students into "ambassadors of Islam."

On the other hand, the BC Muslim Association, which runs the school, may well be alerting everyone to their complete disagreement with Shehab's teachings on one of the basic freedoms on which Western Civilization is based, and making sure they don't make their poisonous way into the curriculum, since we all know (or should) where that sort of thing leads.

Anyway, one thing's for sure, if I'm ever possessed by a jinn, I'll know just where to turn.

Afghan Democracy Update

Getting tough for the Taliban to grasp that they're losing the war?

I mean, they are losing, aren't they? So we're told; but then there's all this sort of thing:

"Jail upheld in Afghan Koran case
An Afghanistan appeal court has upheld 20-year jail terms for two men who published a translation of the Koran.
...
The men were convicted of modifying the Muslim holy book into Persian while not including the original Arabic text. ...
Together with the prosecution they had called for the death penalty, but the three-judge panel upheld a lower court's decision to sentence them each to 20 years' imprisonment. ..."

All this medieval insanity going on under the aegis of a government NATO countries are sacrificing young lives to prop up, all in the cause of saving the Afghans from themselves.

Omar's Big Day

Young Omar Khadr making himself handy in happier days. Some people wouldn't want you to think those hands could be of a Canadian soldier.

I wonder how frequently viewers of, say, CBC News, get to see these sort of snaps from Omar and his Sharia-luvin family. Do they make their way onto the bulletin board of the (Saudi funded?) Little Mosque on the Prairie?

How often are that family mentioned nowadays when 'poor little mistreated child' Omar's champions in the msm and chattering classes and all those dhimmi politicians are howling for poor, poor Omar's release?

How long can a society collaborate with its own enemies and survive?

The Religion of Peace - Liverpool Division

You who believe, intoxicants and gambling, idolatrous practices, and divining arrows are repugnant acts—Satan’s doing: shun them so that you may prosper. Q5:90

Some misguided sorts are allegedly not content to simply "shun" "intoxicants" (in this case: hooch) themselves but take things to the point of murder when others don't.
If only they would follow the example of prophet Mo, who as we all know was gentle and peace-loving to a fault (I suspect he was a huge influence on Gandhi) and never ever would use violence to spread his beliefs.

"Somali youth was killed 'in row over alcohol and Islam'

Angela Balakrishnan and agencies
guardian.co.uk,
Tuesday October 28 2008 16.31 GMT

A gang of five men beat a Somali teenager to death because of a row over Muslims drinking alcohol, a court heard today.

Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim, 17, was repeatedly hit across the head with a samurai sword, baseball bat, machete and metal pole after being chased in Sefton Park, Liverpool, in March this year.

The teenager became embroiled in the fight after accompanying his cousin, Ahmed Mahamoud Ahmed, 16, to a "straightener" – a one-on-one fight – with the alleged killer Ali Mohammed, 19.

Liverpool crown court heard how Mohammed is believed to have accused Ahmed of breaking Muslim rules by drinking alcohol and held him down while a friend hit his head with a bat. ..."
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/oct/28/ukcrime

This does of course, raise the question of why didn't they just haul the late Ahmed to one of the UK's shiny new Sharia courts and have him stoned to death or whatever?
Maybe they don't pay attention to current events, what with trying to live in the 7th century and all ... that would be ironic, no?

Afghan Democracy Update

Seyyed Parwiz Kambakhsh gets 20 years for "blasphemy".

We're told NATO troops continue to fight and die propping up what little government Afdumpistan has in order to allow the Afghans to put together ... to put together exactly what?
Seyyed Parwiz Kambakhsh was originally sentenced to death for downloading and distributing an article on women's rights from the Internet, which in Pres Hamid Karzai's fair land qualifies as something called "blasphemy".
The death sentence came from a provincial court but the more enlightened appeals court in the Big Smoke and Bright Lights of Kabul ran it down to a mere 20 years in prison. Watch for the usual riots in the streets back in Balkh of course, where it seems they take keeping women barefoot, pregnant and veiled more seriously.

If you'd feel better signing a petition (good luck getting him sprung, but) there's one here:

All together now:
And its 1.. 2.. 3.. what are we fightin' for?
Don't ask me I don't give a damn.
The next stop's Afdumpistan ...

Saving the Afghans From Themselves Update

In provinces just south of Kabul, the Taliban have a shadow government that polices roads and runs courts and schools.

The Christian Science Monitor's intrepid Anand Gopal reports on the Taliban's popularity in Afdumpistan.

"Some Afghans live under Taliban rule – and prefer it

Porak, Afghanistan -
After a gang of thieves had continually terrorized an Afghan neighborhood near here months ago, locals decided they'd had enough. "We complained several times to the government and even showed them where the thieves lived," says Ahmad, who goes by one name.

But the bandits continued to operate freely. So the villagers turned to the Taliban. The militants' parallel government here in Logar Province – less than 40 miles from Kabul, the capital – tried and convicted the men, tarred their faces, paraded them around, and threatened to chop off their hands if they were caught stealing in the future. The thieves never bothered the locals again.

In several provinces close to Kabul, the government's presence is vanishing or already nonexistent, residents say. In its place, a more effective – and brutal – Taliban shadow government is spreading and winning local support.

"The police are just for show," one local says. "The Taliban are the real power here." ...

Villagers say that almost every household in Logar Province has Taliban fighters. ...

As nightfall approaches, Taliban fighters slowly emerge from the houses and surrounding hillsides, some lugging rocket-propelled grenade launchers over their shoulders, ready to begin a night's work. The guerrillas set up checkpoints along Logar Province's central highway, stopping trucks and taxis to check IDs. ...

The Taliban now have a strong presence in all seven of Logar's districts, including outright control of four of them, locals say. "In these districts the Taliban patrol openly in the daytime and there is no government presence at all," ...

In areas under their control, the Taliban has set up their own government, complete with police chiefs, judges, and even education committees.

An Islamic scholar heads the judicial committee of each district under Taliban control and usually appoints two judges to try cases using a strict interpretation of sharia law, according to locals and Taliban members. "We prefer these courts to the government courts," says Fazel Wali of Ghazni city, an NGO worker. ...

Abdul Hakim, a Taliban "Emir of Education and Culture" in Ghazni Province, says his group checks all schoolbooks to ensure that they adhere to their version of sharia law. "We want to ensure that our youth are trained in Islamic education," he explains. "First, they should learn sharia law and religious studies. Then comes science and other subjects.... But we don't burn or close down schools if they are in accord with Islam." ...

However, locals say that the number of schools in Taliban-controlled territory is dwindling fast. Of the 1,100 schools operating three years ago in Ghazni, only 100 are left, according to the Ministry of Education. Almost no girls' schools remain, except nearly a dozen in the government-controlled provincial center.

The group also brings its austere interpretation of Islam to the areas they control, banning nonreligious music and flashy wedding parties. In Logar, guards at Taliban checkpoints regularly stop vehicles and beat drivers playing music. ..."

So, again I ask, all these NATO troops have lost their lives, all these families are suffering for what?

The Religion of Peace - Toronto Division

So, if you haven’t heard of them, the Toronto Shariah Program is one of those nice moderate organizations so truly characteristic of the much-maligned Religion of Peace.

Their web site, will, Insha'allah, soon feature more content to go with headlines like “Sufism - Islamic mysticism, dancing and singing, or inner-cleansing of the spiritual soul?” then they’ve had time and volunteers to get up since 2003, but they have surprisingly, managed to get a very interesting page up about jihad, of all topics. Go figure.

If you have the poor judgement, as I confess I do, to be a kafir, you’ll no doubt find all this very reassuring reading:

“Anyone who makes the claim that he wants to serve the Deen yet is not thinking about jihad in the way of Allah, either has no understanding (of jihad) or he is not a truthful and sincere person. However, concerning the issue of jihad, people have gone to two extremes, both of which are mistaken. One group understood from the concept of jihad that it is necessary to view all the kuffar as those whom we must raise the sword or rifle to kill. The other group understands from the concept of jihad that we must be gentle, affectionate, and love all of them, and by doing such we would be “struggling” (i.e. making “jihad”) with them to bring them back to Allah and His Deen. Obviously, both groups have fallen into error. In reality, we are not a people whose mission is to kill the kuffar, nor are we a people who love the kuffar unrestrictedly. When it is time for fighting, we do not fight except those who, by doing so, we would be serving Allah alone (not our passions or personal agendas). ...”

So, you see, we kaffur are only to be attacked when Allah makes it known its “go time”. Allah lets them know whom to kill as well, so, no sweat there either folks. He’s always been very reliable in both regards.

“On the other hand, we have those who say, “We must love the kuffar, be kind with them, and esteem them. They are nice people and they have a lot of good in them.” People who say this have mixed truth with falsehood, just as those who say they want to kill all the kuffar, without understanding or differentiation, have also mixed truth with falsehood.
It is impossible for a true believer to love a kafir: “You will not find people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having love for anyone who opposes Allah and His Messenger” (Qur’an 58-21)..."

Well, that’s not hard for anyone to understand, right? Its one of those Everybody’s beautiful in their own way sort of things, in a Muslim sort of way, I figure.

“So we view all the kuffar as being, firstly, the creation of Allah. And as Muslims, we love Allah’s creation. Therefore, we do not love the kafir, rather, we love Allah’s creation (suna’ Allah). We view them as being a means for our spiritual transaction with Allah; a means for our drawing nearer to Allah. ..."

And that doesn’t necessarily mean slaughtering us all right now, got it? There’s always dhimmi status for those of us who qualify anyway. So, relax already.

“The way we enter discourse with them should be in ways that their intellects can understand, using means that they like and are familiar with,”

Well, that just makes sense because as non-Muslims, clearly we’re intellectually deficient. That’s just obvious.

“ as long as it is not prohibited in the Sacred Law.”

Which encourages taqiyya, kitman and all that, but hey, all religions encourage that sort of thing, don’t they?

“This is not because those means are the only means, but rather, because they are means that Allah loves. So if the time comes that it is more pleasing to Allah that we use another type of means, with some of them, then we do not hesitate for even one second to abandon the old method and to use the new method. The principle is that we are expansive and inclusive of everyone, merciful with everyone, loving and wanting goodness for everyone, from societies to leaders, from Muslims to kafirs. Then if a situation arose that calls us to deal with sternness, even if it reached the level of fighting, then we do not allow our previous ways of mercy and gentleness to delay that which Allah has commanded. ..."

Well, clearly whatever it takes to deal with the enemies of Allah is what must be done.

“The day I meet with an enemy soldier off the battle field, who killed Muslims in Afghanistan, and I sense that he may want guidance, then I will treat him with the utmost of mercy. This is what we MUST understand. So our ultimate and primary mission in jihad is their guidance, even while we might be (physically) fighting them! ..."

Well, I don’t suppose the DND would be tasteless enough to allow Canadian or other Afghan war veterans into Toronto anyway, at least not any who aren't wanting “guidance”, so there's really no chance of this coming up, right?

“In this incident, the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, made firm in our hearts the understanding that even while fighting, our goal is their guidance. So if the enemy shows the signs of being guided, then the fighting between us and them ceases, even if it was an outward form without any true reality. That is why the meaning of the statement, “Did you kill him after he said it, Oh Usamah?!” is that we should not let our drive to fight blind us from the real cause of fighting, which is their guidance. ..."

So, you see, its all about what’s good for us kaffur. I just feel like breaking into a rousing chorus of Kumbaya. How about you?
